Conditions

At Elmhurst Physical Therapy we don't just see you through rehab; we focus on getting you back to your optimum condition. Treatment will involve expert physical therapy methodology best suited to assist healing, reducing pain, restoring range of motion to your tissues and joints, and achieving your goals.

Our goal is always to achieve the best possible outcome. Your initial evaluation will include a comprehensive assessment of your problem or injury, as well as an analysis of your movement patterns to help identify any possible imbalances. Next we develop a comprehensive physical therapy and rehabilitation program to address your specific problems and needs. Our caring clinicians will explain the course of treatment they devise for you and work hand in hand encouraging and motivating you every step of the way.

Post rehab, we offer a Wellness Exercise Program where patients can continue to exercise, under supervision, in our facility gym. Access to a Certified Personal Trainer is also available for weight loss, sports conditioning, or meeting personal fitness goals. This is arranged by appointment.

VESTIBULAR DISORDERS

Feeling dizzy and off balance is frustrating and can be frightening. At Elmhurst Physical Therapy our state-of-the-art equipment and advanced expertise in this area will help you understand and overcome this condition. If you experience dizziness and loss of balance or brain fog that feels like pressure in your head, you are not alone. Eighty percent of people aged 65 years and older have experienced dizziness and BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Position Vertigo). Symptoms of chronic dizziness or imbalance can have significant impact on the ability to perform daily functions.

The vestibular system includes the parts of the inner ear and brain that process sensory information involved with controlling balance and eye movements. If an injury or sudden disease damages these processing areas, vestibular disorders can result. A vestibular disorder can also result or be worsened by environmental conditions or unknown reasons. The most commonly diagnosed vestibular disorders include BPPV labyrinthitis, and Menieres disease.

MODALITIES

  • Infra red goggles synapses helps determine and diagnose abnormal eye movement and identify possible BPPV issues
